Join us for a
monster of a musical comedy; Young
Frankenstein
. The musical creation is Mel Brooks’ adaptation of his
legendarily funny film - Young
Frankenstein!
 The theatrical team at
Ballarat Grammar are keen to offer audience fresh meat and some belly laughs
and Young Frankenstein fits the bill
perfectly. The story follows the adventures of Frederick Frankenstein, grandson
of the infamous Victor Frankenstein. Frederick inherits his grandfather’s
estate in Transylvania and, with the help of a hunchbacked side-kick and a
laboratory assistant, finds himself in the mad scientist shoes of his ancestor.

 With his mad-cap
assistants, Frederick brings to life a creature to rival his grandfather's.
Eventually, of course, the monster escapes and hilarity continuously abounds
with a good dose of singing and dancing in-between disasters. Directed by Elena
Sabellico, with Musical Direction by Andrew Dale, the musical showcases the talents
of over 100 Senior School student performers, musicians, technicians and
creative talents. Past student, Mollie Binns brings the macabre world to life
with her spectacular make-up design. Joining Mollie is past student Mark Gillam
who will lead the technical  design of
bringing a corpse back to life! With such memorable tunes as ‘The Transylvania
Mania,’  ’He Vas My Boyfriend’ and ‘Puttin'
On The Ritz’Young Frankenstein is
scientifically-proven to bring a smile to you dial…if not, we can always arrange
for a transplant!

IN THE MOOD – presented by Mario Maiolo & Mellen
Events -

Hep Cats,
Lindy-Hoppers & fans of the Big Bands – it’s time to SWING again!

The brassy, all-singing-all-dancing-all-American
celebration of Swing Jazz returns to our shores in September/October on a
massive coast to coast tour, following their 2011 and 2013 sold out runs of
more than sixty shows.

The 1940’s was an age when America was in tune with
sentimental ballads and up-tempo Swing, where the waltz and foxtrot competed
with the wild, acrobatic jitterbug, jive and boogie woogie crazed sub-culture,
on the ballroom dance floor.

IN THE MOOD recreates this defining era live on stage
through sizzling choreography (from Alex Sanchez - a veteran of 10 Broadway
musicals), familiar melodies and romantic ballads, sassy costumes and pulsating
rhythms from the STRING OF PEARLS Big Band Orchestra, belting out an authentic
score of over fifty timeless hits from Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Tommy
Dorsey, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra and the Andrews Sisters and more.

Don’t miss this incredible celebration of Swing and the
Big Band era!

Tickets: Standard $79.90, Pension/Student (ID Required) $76.90, Child (2-15years) $76.90, Group (10+) $76.90
